The AWC 500 is a highly‑flexible modular process controller developed by DEIF. Designed for harsh operating conditions, it delivers high reliability, robust performance and flexible configuration. It is primarily deployed in the wind‑power industry for wind turbine main control, pitch control, grid protection and distributed I/O control, and can also be applied to other industrial scenarios requiring complex process control. The complete system is built by combining racks with various functional modules communicating over the EtherCAT bus. It supports two development approaches: C/C++ and IEC 61131‑3 (CODESYS).

Interfaces: EtherCAT (optical + electrical), 2‑port Gigabit Ethernet, dual‑CAN, dual‑RS‑422/485, USB, safety‑chain input / output.
Application: Main controller of the AWC500 system for executing user application software. Supports redundant hot‑standby for on‑shore wind turbines, high‑speed data logging and complex control logic developed in C/C++ or CODESYS.
PDM5·1
Profile: EtherCAT interface module for distributed I/O nodes. Redundant 24 V power inputs with 50 ms full power‑fail hold‑up protection.
Interfaces: Optical‑port EtherCAT IN/OUT, electrical‑port EtherCAT, safety‑chain I/O, USB service port.
Application: Expands remote distributed I/O stations via fibre‑optic EtherCAT. Used for distributed control nodes in wind‑turbine nacelles and tower bases.
IOM5·1 (40‑channel multi‑function I/O)
I/O resources: 12 digital inputs, 4 frequency inputs, 10 digital outputs, 6 temperature channels (Pt100 / Pt1000 / NiCr‑Ni thermocouple), 4 analogue inputs, 4 analogue outputs.
Application: General‑purpose mixed‑signal acquisition and control for wind turbines. Handles temperature, analogue, digital and frequency pulse signals for connecting various sensors and actuators.
DIM5·1 (46‑channel dedicated digital I/O)
I/O resources: 30 galvanically‑isolated digital inputs (four groups), 16 galvanically‑isolated digital outputs (two groups).
Application: Mass digital‑signal acquisition and output for limit switches, contactor status feedback, valves and relay driving in heavy discrete‑signal scenarios.
AIM5·1 (44‑channel high‑density analogue & temperature I/O)
I/O resources: 24‑channel 2‑wire Pt100 temperature inputs (configurable for 3‑wire by combining two channels), 16 analogue inputs, 4 analogue outputs.
Application: Multi‑point temperature measurement and analogue‑signal acquisition for gearboxes and generators in wind turbines; collects pressure, flow and other analogue process variables.
GPM5·1 (Class‑0.5 grid measurement & protection module)
Resources: Two sets of 3‑phase voltage inputs (grid‑side and generator‑side), one set of 3‑phase CT current inputs; 2 relay outputs with feedback supervision.
Application: 3‑phase voltage / current measurement, power‑calculation and grid‑protection for wind‑turbine grid‑connection. Implements grid‑tied logic and fault protection with Class‑0.5 measurement accuracy.
IFM5·1 (Fieldbus interface module)
Two firmware variants:
Standard version: 2 × RS‑485/422, 2 × CAN, 2 × SSI encoder interfaces.
Profi variant: PROFIBUS‑DP Master + 2 × SSI (CAN / RS‑485 functions disabled).
Application: Connects SSI encoders, CAN‑bus devices, RS‑485 peripherals and PROFIBUS‑DP slaves. Interfaces pitch encoders and third‑party fieldbus equipment for wind turbines.
