自1987年在天津成立第一家合资厂，施耐德电气在中国已经走过25年的历程。25年的时间让施耐德电气深深扎根中国，并且与中国的经济发展的脉搏共同跳动。不仅见证了中国经济起跑，加速和起飞的各个历史阶段，更是以推动中国经济发展为己任，成为一个名副其实的卓越贡献者。
1987年，施耐德集团在中国的第一个合资公司——天津梅兰日兰有限公司正式营业
1992年，施耐德集团全额收购法国梅兰日兰公司，并于次年调整在天津梅兰日兰有限公司中所持股份，以50.1% 实现绝对控股。
1995年，施耐德集团将原设香港的东北亚总部迁至北京，提升中国在亚洲市场的战略地位。施耐德电气（中国）投资有限公司（SECI）成立，在中国的第一轮大规模投资开始，同年成立了上海施耐德工业控制有限公司（SSIC）上海施耐德配电电器有限公司（SSPA），上海施耐德低压终端电器有限公司（SSLVTA），施耐德（广州）母线有限公司（SBG）。
1997年，施耐德（北京）中压电器有限公司（SBMV）、施耐德（北京）低压电器有限公司（SBLV）成立。
1998年，企业管理解决方案（SAP）在内部实施，施耐德电气（中国）的现代化企业管理得到完善。
1999年，施耐德集团更名为施耐德电气集团施耐德集团以天津梅兰日兰有限公司销售队伍为基础统一中国的配电销售系统，由施耐德电气（中国）投资有限公司领导。
2000年，在北京、上海、广州建立物流中心，集中配送各个投资公司生产的所有产品，覆盖全国的高效物流网络得以建立。
2001年，施耐德电子元件（东莞）有限公司（SEDD）。
2002年，与台湾士林电机共同投资成立施耐德士林（苏州）变压器有限公司（SSTI），收购无锡普洛菲斯电子有限公司。施耐德（苏州）变频器有限公司（SSD）成立。
2003年，施耐德（上海）电器部件制造有限公司（SSAM）、施耐德（苏州）机柜系统有限公司（SSES）成立。

2005年，独资成立艾佩斯（厦门）电力设施有限公司，另与厦门华电开关有限公司合资成立施耐德电气华电开关（厦门）有限公司。施耐德电气中国研发中心在上海建立，中国成为继法国、美国之后施耐德全球重要研发基地。
2006年，与陕西宝光集团合资成立施耐德（陕西）宝光电器有限公司（SSBEA）
2007年，节能增效战略全面实施。与德力西集团合资成立德力西电气有限公司，巩固中国低压电器市场的领导地位。原客户呼叫中心(2001 年成立) 更名为客户关爱中心，
2008年，参与北京奥运会建设，为47个奥运场馆及周边配套设施提供节能增效解决方案。
2009年，参与国庆六十周年庆典供电服务，为天安门及周边地区电力设施提供保障。
2010年，施耐德电气亚太区总部迁至北京，进一步提升中国市场的领导地位，是施耐德电气在中国战略的新里程碑。EcoStruxureTM能效管理系统在中国推出，胡锦涛总书记参观施耐德电气集团卡罗斯中心自动化工厂。

自1987 年进入中国以来，施耐德电气  一直深深扎根中国、服务中国，并时刻铭记企业社会责任。2000年至今，施耐德电气已向中国社会机构捐赠现金及物资价值近1亿元人民币，施耐德电气精心策划了Luli 项目、碧波计划、紧急救助项目和大学项目等一系列社会责任项目持续地回报中国社会。
Luli 项目—凝聚爱心，播种希望
Luli 项目[10]  是施耐德电气总部基金会发起的，在施耐德全球推行的员工公益项目，旨在 在全体施耐德员工中推行施耐德企业社会责任文化和理念，并通过员工参与，改善贫困孩子的健康及教育状况。Luli项目至今已走过11年，资助建立了9所希望小学，多次向孤儿院、特殊教育学校及儿童公益机构捐款，并开展了贫困儿童医疗救助等项目，为无数儿童及家庭带来了希望。
碧波计划—绿色能效，点亮人生
碧波计划是施耐德电气在全球开展的意将*安全、*清洁的能源提供给社会*需要帮助的人民，同时用电气相关教育培训来帮助贫困青年掌握专业技能，开启人生的一项创新且可持续发展的计划。自2009 年起，碧波计划在中国先后实施了农民工子弟职校资助项目、大学生公益奖学金项目、无电村新能源援助项目和乡村电工培训项目。通过这些项目的实施，施耐德电气希望为中国无电地区的家庭带来光明，为贫困青少年带来学习和就业的希望。
紧急救助—救援行动，大爱无疆
施耐德电气[1]  中国通过紧急救助计划，向遭受重大自然灾害的地区进行灾后重建资助。2008 年，中国湖南和四川地区先后遭受雪灾地震等自然灾害的袭击，施耐德电气先后向受灾地区捐赠物资总价值近900 万人民币，并积极投身灾后重建工程。2010 年，甘肃省舟曲县遭受重大泥石流灾害，施耐德电气向舟曲县全部104 所学校捐赠价值超过千万人民币的图书和电脑帮助其建立图书馆及电脑教室，并于2011 及2012 连续两年组织志愿者舟曲走访慰问活动。
志愿者组织—星星之火，爱满人间
2010 年，施耐德电气正式成立志愿者队伍，并成为唯一一家被北京团市委授予“节能增效志愿服务队”称号的外资企业。至2012年，该组织已经拥有500余名员工志愿者，400余名合作高校大学生及合作伙伴志愿者。
