合作关系 坚如磐石
在连铸厂，钢水连续地铸成厚钢锭，作为轧钢厂的预制品。在这个过程的开始阶段，金属铸造在固定的模子里。固定的模子由围成长方形的铜板组成。钢水在这些铜板上凝固，固体在仍为液态的核心周围形成。这个外壳下移到模子下面的滚轮上，然后利用侧部安装的喷孔急剧冷却，同时有更多的钢水在上面成形。在连铸厂*后一道工序，固化的钢棒被切断成不同的长度（钢锭）。
　　
奥钢联股份有限公司CC4铸造厂技术现代化主管奥特弗莱德·克赖兹玛尔说：“在我们连铸厂内，在各种的独立区域常常使用多个控制系统，以此连续监视过程，如果需要，还可以有交互作用。今天，我们也可以从单一的中央控制站评估和控制整个过程。整个生产过程可以用监视器跟踪。我们的目标是要实现可以从主控站只由一个人进行操作。更换系统另外的目的是要得到质量保证的额外信息和为我们客户提供文档。”
　　
生产记录
位于奥地利林茨的切姆雪夫工业服务公司是一家MCE公司，受委托应在CC4连铸厂应用过程控制系统的项目中承担主要任务。所有工作都在按计划的停机期间以及运行时间完成。这样可以防止额外的生产中断。作为一个特殊的优点，在完成更换之后马上就能实现生产记录。这是由B&R提供的过程控制系统才能实现的。
　　
负责切姆雪夫项目的赫尔穆特·丹纳尔说：“我们的工作是使现有的控制系统来适应由奥钢联计划要求的改进和更换，同时保证在整个更换期间完整的运行能力。”
　　
这个控制系统设计的任务是使操作员在连铸厂能完全自动化调节、控制和监视所有功能。工厂每天四班24小时运行，但是更换是在没有危险而且是*短的时间内完成的。
因此，奥钢联有限公司和切姆雪夫每家公司都利用了8-16小时停运中的一次，这样的机会每两个月才有一次，还有计划中的5天停机，在此时间完成新系统对老系统的更换。
丹纳尔说：“这些总体条件对我们是一个挑战。如果在更换时，某个部件不工作，我们必须保证在需要的情况下我们能在16小时内回到老系统上工作。”
